Hare Krishna Dear Volunteers,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I would like to thank you for participating in our online retreat this weekend “Coming Closer to Krishna.” Hope you enjoyed our line-up of enlivening sessions on both days. For those of you who missed, we will upload the recordings and our cooking video soon.
Our temple president, HG Visakha Devi Dasi’s messages on developing the right mood for volunteering and continuing our services in adverse conditions gave both days a motivational start. We were fortunate to hear first hand, the experiences of HG Bala Gopala Devi Dasi’s cooking for Srila Prabhupada as well as HH Bhakti Charu Swami’s deep personal memoirs of Srila Prabhupada. I pray that we are able to incorporate some of these lessons and instructions in our service to Krishna.
HH Bhakti Rasamrita Swami’s session on Krishna Elixir taught us that Krishna bhakti is the ultimate medicine and the importance of basic healthy lifestyle to strengthen our spiritual practices. The pre-recorded cooking session of Bharati and myself was really well received.
I am also very grateful to our three volunteers who shared their experiences of serving and volunteering at Bhaktivedanta Manor. It is always inspiring to see the dedication, sincerity and humble mood of service all of you have while serving the Lord.
Our final session with HG Sutapa Prabhu and HG Gurudas Prabhu was indeed ‘Top of the Blocks’ – a lively interactive session with very useful and practical tips for improving our Krishna consciousness.
I would like to thank HG Vrinda Sundari Devi Dasi and Delany Mataji for keeping the children engaged with Krishna conscious activities in our children’s corner. Their drawing sheets from the session can be found here. Please email us any art that your children made in these session, I am sure they will be pleased to see them.
Last but not the least, I would like to specially thank the School of Bhakti team without whom this online retreat would not have been possible.
Thank you all for your kind words of appreciation on our live chat on Zoom, text messages, emails and calls. Knowing that you are pleased with our service makes all this effort worthwhile.
We will let you know when the temple reopens to the public. Till then please stay well and keep safe.
Krsnapurna Devi Dasi (VCC Head)
